Kevin and Suzette have spent more than 20 years working with animals and their families, and Kevin is experienced in working with pets who won't sit still. We take whatever time is needed to capture the expressions and character you know and love — patience is simply part of the process.

Indoor portrait sessions typically run up to an hour, though Kevin & Suzette take the time your Afghan needs to feel comfortable and show their true personality. There is never a rush.

Kevin will create a variety of portraits designed to capture your Afghan's personality, expressions and distinctive character. There's no need to worry about whether your dog will sit perfectly. We'll work patiently with your pet and allow time for them to become comfortable in the studio.

If selected, participants commission a private indoor portrait session with Kevin for $500. Portrait artwork is purchased separately. Signature Wall Portraits begin at $1,500, and our one-of-a-kind Mixed-Media Colored Oil Portraits begin at $5,000. Selected participants in this special project receive a $500 Portrait Art Credit toward qualifying commissioned artwork from their session.

The credit is our thank-you for allowing your Afghan Hound to participate in this special portrait project. Your $500 Portrait Art Credit may be applied toward qualifying commissioned portrait artwork from your session. It is not redeemable for cash and may not be applied toward the session fee. We'll explain all of the artwork options and pricing before you make any decisions.

The $500 Portrait Art Credit applies toward a Signature Wall Portrait or larger commissioned artwork created from your session. It cannot be combined with other promotions or applied toward multiple smaller prints. One credit per household.

There is no obligation to purchase artwork beyond the $500 portrait session. However, this project is designed for families who are genuinely interested in the possibility of creating finished portrait artwork for their home. We encourage you to review our starting prices before applying so you'll know what to expect if you fall in love with what Kevin creates.

Kevin Wimpy Portraits specializes in finished portrait artwork rather than digital image files. Our clients come to us to create something tangible and lasting for their homes — from Signature Portraits to one-of-a-kind Mixed-Media Colored Oil Portraits. Clients who commission wall art 20” or larger receive a branded sample web pix of the ordered artwork to share on social media. We kindly ask that you leave the printing and painting to us — it's how we ensure every piece meets our gold standard for quality.

Our Mixed-Media Colored Oil Portraits combine Kevin's portrait artistry with extensive hand-applied artistic work to create a distinctive finished piece with the depth, richness and character of a painted portrait. Each is individually created as artwork for your home. Mixed-Media Colored Oil Portraits begin at $5,000.

Possibly. The Afghan Hound Portrait Project is specifically focused on Afghan Hounds, but we understand that many pets are part of a larger four-legged family. Tell us about your other pets when we contact you, and we'll discuss what might work best for your portrait session and artwork.

The Afghan Hound Portrait Project sessions will be created indoors at Kevin Wimpy Portraits in Brentwood, Tennessee. Our indoor studio allows Kevin to control the lighting and environment and create the timeless portrait style for which the studio is known. Kevin is also available for other commissions at the garden, indoor studio, at your special location or travel.

The KWP studio at 6970 Moores Lane in Brentwood, Tennessee, serving greater Nashville and surrounding areas, and worldwide. We'll discuss travel and logistics during your consultation call if your Afghan is selected.

You'll return to view the portraits Kevin has created. This is often one of our clients' favorite parts of the experience. We'll help you narrow down your favorites and guide you through selecting the portrait style, size and presentation that works beautifully in your home. You'll even be able to preview your portraits on your own walls at the correct frame size—so you never have to guess what the finished piece will look like or what size is right for your space.

You don't need to know before you come. Part of our process is helping you determine the appropriate scale and presentation for the space where your portrait will live. We'll guide you through the options so you don't have to make those decisions on your own.

No. We are accepting a limited number of Afghan Hounds for this particular portrait project. Submitting the form allows us to learn a little about you and your dog. If we believe your Afghan may be a good fit, we'll contact you to learn more and discuss the portrait experience before anything is scheduled.

We're continually expanding Kevin's body of pet portrait work and would love to create portraits featuring the Afghan Hound's unmistakable beauty, expression and personality. We're not searching for a perfect show dog. We're looking for beloved Afghan Hounds whose people consider them an important part of the family.

Please don't assume they're too old. Older pets can make especially meaningful portrait subjects. If you have concerns about your dog's comfort, mobility or stamina, tell us when we speak. We'll discuss their individual needs and whether the experience would be appropriate for them.
